The Commissioners Meet All Night and History Is Repeated

After meeting and debating the issues of not having a playoff system we decided to wimp out and like in 1992 the University of Washington Huskies sharing the National title with The University of Miami Hurricanes so will  Terry "Eeek my kid can drive" Hubbard and Kurt "Half Time" Schlicker be co-champions this year and share the Rockybowl title of "King Rockybowler" and share first and second place purses. 

 

The controversy for the true champs in 1992  has never ended and neither will the controversy of the Rockybowl title of 2009. Who was the real prognosticator, who should be crowned King Rockybowler?  The commissioners were worn-out, crabby, exhausted,stifled, and we had pains in our backs  until Jim "Top Coug" shouted "My god men are starting to sound like our wives oh my god, let's let them share the title" so we gave up and went back to some serious drinking.

 

Congratulations to the others for their blood sweat and tears and hanging in right up to the last game.  Nat-a-later is trying to convince dad he has enough money for a new truck.

 And for Mike and Marion first timers seem to get lucky at this bowl so congratulations but DONOT expect to be back in the money for a long time.  Ask Bart and Kris who were  champions their first year never to be heard from again. Congratulations for being in the money a feat I have never achieved. 

 

Next year unlike the BCS we will have tie breakers in place published and ready to solve this dilemma and have a true champion

 

I think the most disappointed person with this tie is Quinny "Almost Grown Up" Dunkley who in three years has finished twice one place out of the money and once 2 places out of the money, her suggestion is to throw both them out and crown her with 4th place, I thought it was a good idea but Jim and Doug could not get a grasp on it. 

 

Thank you all for the great posts yesterday they helped made a great finish to the Rockybowl.  Big Hands we will look into your suggestions on posting, right Jim?

 

We the commissioners hope the bowl season was more fun due to our efforts and we look forward to next year.

New RBS Scoring System Announced, 2009 Champion Crowned

In the spirit of the NCAA College Football fictitious National Chmpionship, the Rocky Bowl Comissioners have decided to adopt the following Rocky Bowl Poll to determine it's Champion. We believe this system wil inspire outrage in the Rocky Bowl Nation and we will hear comments from you on this BLOG. If we don't hear anything, we will assume nobody cares and we may have to shut the doors next year or trim back on invitees!

RBS Scorring System: In the event of a tie in scoring points, the tie will be broken by # of Wins + # of current year Blog Posts. With this scoring system in place, Kurt 'Half Time' Schlicker is the 2009 RBS Champion. Congratulations Wino!!!

What is Going On?

If Florida wins Nat -a -later comes in to finish third and know you have all been beaten by a 4 year old who picked his own games.

 

The Suzi and Dorian Show have no idea what is going on, as one night at Doffers (a famous drinking hole in the northwest) I heard one of them ask if that was a Goal after Boise State scored. Soccer Moms should not be allowed in to the Rockybowl the future. It just makes all of us football strategist look ridiculous. 

 

At one point I even thought Tyrone "Bye Bye" Willingham was going to win a game no such luck Tyrone you Loser.

 

Didn’t a dog finish higher then me last year.

 

Now for Big Hands Brady our beloved shirt benefactor from Nebraska, thank you each year for your participation in the Rockybowl and for sending the great shirts and I do hope one year you will attend.

 

TopCoug, Jim Stafford has put in Tons and Tons of hours  creating and running the blog sheet and keeping things working. Great job again Jim, and I hope after the slaughter the Huskies put on the Cougs we can be friends again.   I hope we can talk again before the rematch here in Seattle because my taunts after that slaughter will be merciless.

 

I look forward to next year and the best of luck to both teams tomorrow and the winner will not only receive his winnings but a Rockybowl shirt to wear in PRIDE.

Rocky Bowl Race down to Two

Terry "My Kid Can Drive Eek" Hubbard and Kurt "Half Time" Schlicker will battle over the next 3 bowl games for the top spot in the 2009 Rocky Bowl. The contest will likely come down to the the BCS Championship on Jan 8. An Oklahoma Victory will catapult "Half Time" into first place and a win by Texas will crown "My Kid can Drive Eek" the Rocky Bowl Champion to go along with his Bobbie Breeze award.

Underdogs Tip the Balance of Rocky Bowl, Prize Money Announced

Once again the Underdogs have done it. Ole Miss, Wildcats and Utes wiped out 3,663 points with 3 stunning but convincing victories over Big-12, ACC, and SEC over-rated conference teams. Let the East Coast soak up a 5-0 Pac-10 Bowl Season. Let's let BYU, Miami of Florida, Oklahoma State, Pittsburg and Penn State tell us how soft the Pac-10 was this year...

The gutsy Wildcat pick propelled wino's Vicki "I am NOT Afraid" Schlicker and Kurt "Half Time" Schlicker to the top of the Points Possible leader board. Marion "Farmor Daughter" Inglis and Nephew Nathan "Nate-a-lator" Schlicker are close behind.

Bobbi Breeze winner, Terry "My Kid Can Drive Eek" Hubbard, maintains a slim lead 22 Pts Won lead with only 37 remaining pts.

And last and least, ever since he found out that last place gets their $20 back, CJ 'Bulldog 43' Stafford is trying desperately to hold on to the Toilet Bowl and is planning a place on his room wall for this prestigious award.

Bobbi Breeze Award Held for Ransom

Nira 'Sis' Smith and shadow are holding the Bobbi Breeze Award for ransom. The ransom is simply, "Show our picture on the Blog or you will never see Your trophy again".

The commisioners have agreed to pay the ransom in hopes that that the USPS will deliver it soon so that this years winner can enjoy it in 2009.

Terry "My Kid Can Drive Eek" Hubbard Wins Bobbi Breeze

Terry "My Kid Can Drive Eek" Hubbard eeks out Bobbi Breeze award from Scott 'Underworked' Ericksen by 1 Pt thanks to the beloved Oregon Ducks!

Anxious to wear the Yellow Jersey and cruise to his victory, Underworked showed up at 1:30pm and wore the Yellow Jersey all night until the bitter end. Needless to say, the Oregon Ducks crushed his hopes once again (Yes, he is a Husky) with some ESPN Highlight plays for the ages. He didn't give up the jersey without a fight though. He was so distraught that Rocky had to tear if off him and pull it from his grasp. But, it made it back into safe hands. Unfortunately, the Bobbi Breeze award winner did not show up to the party to wear the jersey for a photo opportunity. We hope to capture one in the coming days.

The Rocky Bowl party was once again a huge success. Highlighted by some great games that kept the party goers evenly divided. Great food, beer, sodas, cigars and camaraderie were enjoyed by all.

Once again Brady 'Big Hands' Weisbeck out did himself with the 2009 edition of Rocky bowl shirts sported by many attending the Rocky Bowl. One shirt was held out for this years winner

Thanks again Big Hands! You are the best. TopCoug does suggest a slightly more Crimson version next year. After all, the Cougars are the Apple Cup Champions!
